I’m back

I haven’t posted in this for a while… so here goes!

My summer was amazing. It had some downs such as losing my job and spiraling into a state of confusion about life & love; but apart from that, awesome! I worked at loads of festivals. I met so many amazing people and filmed a variety of things, from a man with an ear built into his arm to a busty lady with fireworks shooting out of her tits. I was constantly working and traveling, it was bliss!

For my 21st, me and my best friend went to Belfast. It was my first time on a plane, my emotions were a bit crazy as I wasn’t sure what to expect (yeah, planes are on the ground then they fly from A, until they arrive at B.. but IT WAS MY FIRST TIME). Belfast was great. However, In Scotland, if you need a bottle of alcohol, pop into the supermarket or even that dodgy looking shop (surrounded by questionable individuals, sporting loose clothing and gold jewellery that stains your fingers green) on the corner and you are guarenteed to find one within minutes. Belfast? we spent an hour trying to find ONE BOTTLE OF VODKA. It turned into two Scottish girls having a mental break down in front of an alcohol-free Tesco, alongside an old Scottish couple with teary eyes and dropped jaws, repeatedly crying out for help as the world just didn’t seem worth it anymore.. (slight exaggeration, but we did bump into an old booze starved Scottish couple). Eventually, we stumbled across a shop that had bars over the windows and alcohol locked up behind the desk. The old woman behind us might as well have had a shot gun in her hands, the way she stared at us was a bit unnerving. The next Belfast alcohol shocker was the price. Five quid for one vodka & mixer, FIVE QUID. We got over it pretty fast about £50 worth of drinks in.

We visited the Belfast zoo, which was just amazing! It was an extremely hot day and everything was up hill, I was a pool of sweat by the time we got to see the elephants – it was worth it! I could of sat and watched the Elephants all day. Whilst we were in Belfast, we visited the Titanic Museum. I am a massive Titanic geek, I know the history inside out and can proudly say I own a ‘heart of the ocean’ replica from the film. I am a massive loser, and I love it. There is a small carriage ride in the museum, that shows you what the conditions were like whilst they built the Titanic. Me and Erin were put on a carriage with another couple. One of them kept farting, I honestly couldn’t breathe from the smell. I considered just throwing myself to my death to escape, it was awful. I know it’s a natural bodily function but please, please, just lock your ass up and throw away the key. Awful.

ANYWAY – Belfast is a beautiful, charming and lively city. The people there were friendly and helpful, i’d advise anyone to visit :) . I don’t know where I want to visit next, I want to go somewhere very little people have heard of like ‘Hrunamannahreppur’
